9. Ask for a Corner Room

If you want to stay at a large room without paying any extras, ask the hotel receptionist whether they have corner rooms available for you. Such rooms are more spacious and less noisy than those located in the middle of the hall. Such information can be usually provided in the late afternoon, when the level of occupancy is known.

10. Bring Earplugs

Remember to pack earplugs. You do not want to be disturbed by youngsters listening to loud music or a company of friends celebrating an event. Earplugs are good for flights too.
