Aren’t we now looking for foods with ‘low-fat’, ‘low-calorie’ and ‘sugar-free’ labels on their packages?
We trust manufacturers and pay for products with ‘natural’ and ‘real’ notes without realizing that they are not as good and healthy as we would expect.
1. Sports Drinks
Whenever athletes have a need for electrolytes, they purchase sports drinks. Electrolytes are responsible for a wide range of different functions in the body. One of their purposes is to regulate fluids. If the body is hydrated, it ensures the perfect performance during workout. However, electrolytes are not lost as fast as most of us might think.
2. Fat-Free and Low-Fat Foods
Let’s quit blaming it all on fat. It’s not fat that makes you look big. The truth is that fat contains lots of calories – twice as many as you can find in protein or carbs. However, you get fat only when you combine fat with carbs. If your food contains no fat but is rich in carbs, you will be suffering from extra pounds. We suggest you should stop being obsessed with ‘low-fat’ or ‘fat-free’ stuff. Such food does more harm than good. Opt for full-fat products instead. You will need much less of them to feel full for longer.
