Labels do not always reveal the truth
Labels that claim that the food is sodium free are not always reliable enough. Manufacturers may sometimes add around 5 milligrams of salt per one serving. Some labels say that there is less salt or that the percentage of sodium in the product is reduced. The most reliable information will still be indicated in the nutritional part of the package.
Have a list of the top offenders
Preparing breakfasts, lunches and dinners from scratch is a great idea. If you feel dedicated enough to change your eating habits, then home-made food will help you become healthier. Be careful when going to the grocery store. Some of the items you’ll need for your dishes may contain too much sodium. Read the labels.
