Vegans do not eat a huge number of foods regular eaters usually consume without thinking how harmful and unhealthy those products are. Here are just some of them:
1. Sauces and dressings
Not all sauces and dressing are recommended for vegans since some brands contain anchovy. Avoid Caesar and Worcestershire sauce. Cream-based sauces and dressings are not always vegan either. Read the labels before adding your favorites to salads. See what ingredients there are and whether they are vegan.
2. Candies/sweets and other yummies
We give gummy bears to our kids. We think that Jell-O can help us lose weight and become healthier. We also cannot imagine camping without marshmallows. The worst thing is that all these sweet treats contain gelatin. If you are a vegan, you know that animal byproducts (gelatin included) must be avoided. Read the labels and look for agar-agar.
