All fruits that we see in the grocery store have great properties. However, some fruits can hardly ever be found on the shelves.
1. Cherimoya
Cherimoya is a plant that gives a fragrant and very delicious fruit. It combines flavors of some of the tastiest fruits such as strawberry, banana, peach, pineapple and even papaya. The name of the fruit is translated as “cold seeds” – the species grows in South America, in the Andes where temperatures are relatively low. The flesh of the fruit is used to prepare ice-cream and fruit salads. If consumed regularly, cherimoya can remove toxins from your body. It is also good to eat it if you need to balance and control heart rate and blood pressure.
2. Miracle Fruit
In West Africa people eat different fruits from those you are used to. There they have a small, red type of species resembling a berry with one seed inside. They call it a ‘miracle fruit’ since it makes sour food taste sweet! The plant contains miraculin, the ingredient that does such an unusual trick. Miraculin blocks the sour receptors in your mouth and activates the sweet ones. The effect may last up to half an hour. The plant grows in tropical forests and is very sweet. It is widely used by doctors to bring back the appetite of their patients. Although the fruit is sweet, it is very low in calories.
