7. Albania
How about visiting Albania? If you enjoy wine, then you will definitely love Albanian wine. In Albania they know how to make the best wine. The country’s has gone through lots of hardships. In the past it was ruled by a dictator. Since 1990 Albania has been trying to recover. Hopefully the government will do all possible to revive wine production. It is said that Albania used to be the greatest wine producer (after Greece, where first wine was made). Experts claim that in 15 years or so Albania may become the leading wine producer. They already have a whole range of wines like Stambollesh, Kotek, Kryqs, Cruj, and many others.

If you are interested in dessert wine, then one of the most interesting places for you would be the Tokaj region. It is located between Hungary and ex- Czechoslovakia. Wines there have special scent of prunes. The region is famous for its wineries that produce affordable dessert wine. A bottle of such a beverage will cost you twice as much as a can of beer (4 Eur only!)
